The PR Government is accepting proposals to privatize the ferry system. At a meeting held on April 6, 2016, the union of ferry employees and Victor Emeric, Mayor of Vieques, strongly opposed the privatization. Victor explained that trips would be drastically reduced and that it was possible, with the approval of the ATM, to have a fare increase. using the link below you can hear these comments.
